Leicester City Extension For Wanya Marçal

Exciting young Academy graduate Wanya Marçal has extended his stay with Leicester City Football Club to the summer of 2026.

The 21-year-old had an impressive start to the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship campaign, making his full debut away at Huddersfield Town, which finished 1-0 to the Foxes, before going on to score his first senior goal the following week in a 2-1 win over Cardiff City at King Power Stadium.

Marçal, who is a Portugal youth international and has been with the Academy since Under-13s level, made his first appearance for Leicester City’s Under-18s in February 2020 and has progressed through the ranks, featuring for the Development Squad on 48 occasions in Premier League 2, scoring 10 goals.

In January 2022, he was rewarded for his fine form at Academy level with a maiden senior Leicester City appearance in a 4-1 win over Watford in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round on Filbert Way, and was also named of the bench for three European fixtures that same season.
