Contractor Henry Brothers Construction is to become a sponsor of Nottingham-based charity Switch Up for the next three years.

The company has decided to support the charity after learning more about the individual, life-changing support the team provides to vulnerable young individuals from across Nottinghamshire.

MD of Henry Brothers Ian Taylor said: “Switch Up uses tried and tested mentoring techniques, along with physical training, to engage Nottingham’s young people in positive activity and to steer them away from the circle of crime and gang-criminality.

“The work that Switch Up founder Marcellus Baz has done in setting up the charity and developing it into such an important resource for young people in the city is truly inspirational. Henry Brothers is excited to announce that the company is going to be a sponsor of Switch Up for the next three years and we look forward to exploring ways in which we can help the charity and those who benefit from it.”

Shaped by Baz’s own lived experience, Switch Up uses its unique Five Pillar approach to empower young people to overcome life’s toughest challenges. Combining mentoring, counselling, education, employability and physical activity, the Switch Up team supported more than 2,000 people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in 2024 alone, creating positive impact on physical and mental health, crime prevention and education, employment and training.

The three-year partnership with Henry Brothers will provide the charity with much-needed funding to continue its positive employability programme as well as offering invaluable work placement opportunities for the young people.

Marcellus Baz, CEO and founder of Switch Up, said:

“This incredible support from Henry Brothers will make a real and lasting difference to the work we do. We are grateful for their commitment to sponsor us over the next three years. This kind of consistency is vital and allows us to plan ahead and deliver long-term impact for the city’s disadvantaged young people."

“At Switch Up, we’re always looking to align with local, like-minded organisations who share our passion for giving young people real opportunities. The construction industry faces its own challenges in attracting the next generation of skilled workers, and we hope this partnership will inspire some of the young people we work with to see a future for themselves in the built environment.”

Henry Brothers Construction, which has a Nottingham office in Eldon Road, Beeston, is part of is part of The Henry Group, which comprises a number of manufacturing and construction sector companies, ranging from external construction through to interiors fit out.

Leeds Jukebox Manufacturer Keeps Nostalgia Alive In Today’s Digital Age

On a quiet industrial estate in east Leeds, among warehouses and ring roads, a familiar glow still flickers. It comes not from a screen but from polished chrome, curved glass and softly lit panels, the kind that once beckoned from American diners and British dancehalls.
