New London Hire As Vail Williams Grows Business Rates Offering

Property consultancy Vail Williams has made a strategic appointment in its London business rates team as business continues to grow.

Anthony Ngwube has joined as an associa

te after more than seven years at the Valuation Office Agency, most recently as a senior rating surveyor.

He advises occupiers, landlords and investors on their business rates liabilities, helping them understand their rating assessments and identify opportunities to challenge rateable values or secure business rates relief. He said:

“I am particularly pleased to have joined such a proactive and dynamic firm and I hope my skill sets from previous roles will prove invaluable for Vail Williams."

“I provide specialist business rates advice to a diverse range of occupiers, investors, landlords and public sector clients across the UK."

“My role involves managing and delivering rating instructions throughout the property lifecycle, helping clients minimise their business rates liabilities while ensuring compliance with current legislation and valuation practices.”

James Lacey, Vail Williams’ London regional managing partner, said:

“We welcome Anthony to our London base in Soho Square where he has hit the ground running and has already become an important member of our team."

“Our ambitious growth plans for the region depend on us having the best people in position to maintain and improve our second-to-none client service. In this instance, Anthony is working closely with colleagues across agency, lease advisory, building consultancy and planning."

“His role is to ensure that business rates considerations inform wider property strategies and his focus is on identifying potential savings, managing liabilities and helping clients to plan ahead with greater confidence.”

Adam Barnard, the firm’s head of business rates, added:

“Having previously worked at the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), Anthony brings valuable insight into the assessment of commercial property for business rates."

“His experience helps him interpret VOA data, identify discrepancies in rating assessments and evaluate potential grounds for business rates appeals, including material changes of circumstance.”

Anthony supports clients in understanding the business rates implications of property occupation, redevelopment, revaluation and regulatory change.

From initial property inspections through to detailed reports and recommendations, he combines technical analysis with practical guidance tailored to each client’s objectives.

Vail Williams has been an active property adviser in London for more than two decades. A team of over 15 experienced property experts provide a range of advisory services for occupiers, landlords, investors, developers and lenders across the city – and beyond.
