A Lancashire hotel venue has struck up a new business partnership with a social enterprise which helps people who are homeless get back into employment.
Lancaster House Hotel has taken delivery of a new range of delicious shortbread biscuits supplied by specialist bakery Half the Story. And as the name suggests, there’s more to the tale than meets the eye.
The biscuit manufacturer also creates supportive job roles for those who are trying to make a new start after experiencing homelessness. By providing employment, Half the Story helps its employees to earn a wage, develop their skills, build a career path and find somewhere to live.
The partnership came about after executive chairman of English Lakes Hotels Simon Berry and managing director of Half the Story Matt Parfitt met at an entrepreneurship conference, where they were both speaking about how business can be a force for good in their respective communities.

Half the Story is a joint venture between Grace Enterprises, which provides supportive employment for those with multiple barriers to work, and Green Pastures, which helps secure housing for the homeless. For further information, visit here.
