Yorkshire Wolds Chicken Shortlisted In Rural Awards


The team at an East Yorkshire poultry business is celebrating after reaching the final of a regional business award.


Middleton on the Wolds business, Soanes Poultry has been shortlisted in the Rural Business category in the seventh Yorkshire Post Rural Awards. Soanes Poultry's MD, Ben Lee is rightfully delighted with the news adding:


“We’re proud of our rural roots and our 75-year heritage. We’re also very proud to be recognised as a leading rural Yorkshire business and are looking forward to celebrating the achievements of all rural businesses next month.”

Soanes Poultry faces competition from fellow finalists, Cedarbarn Farm Shop, Café and Miniature Railway, Homestead Kitchen, Goathland; Moss Valley Fine Meats; Timmstock Farming and The Wensleydale Experience. The team will learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony at The Pavilions in Harrogate on Thursday, 28th September.


Soanes Poultry was founded by Tom Soanes and has been rearing and preparing chicken for 75 years. It sells chicken to butchers and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
