Join The Mayor Of Charnwood For A Festive Carol Service

The Mayor of Charnwood’s annual Community Carol service will take place during the Christmas period.

The festive event takes place on Monday December 18 at 7pm at All Saints with Holy Trinity, Loughborough’s Historic Parish.

Music at the event will be provided by the All Saints Church Choir and the Charnwood Symphonic Wind Orchestra.

Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Margaret Smidowicz, said:

“I am very much looking forward to welcoming residents to the annual carol service. It is a wonderful opportunity to gather the community together, and importantly get them in a festive mood."

“This will also give us an opportunity to raise money for my chosen charities, Men and Women in Sheds and a local cancer self help group who are working with The Swallows to raise awareness of head and neck cancer. In addition, we will contribute to All Saints with Holy Trinity Church who host this annual event.”

“I would like to wish everyone in Charnwood a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.”

Revd. Canon David Newman will be leading the festive service and commented:

“We are looking forward to welcoming friends and neighbours of all faiths and none to Loughborough’s historic parish church."

“As generations have done over hundreds of years, we look to hear and be inspired by the ancient Christian story of the birth of Jesus told through word and song."

The event is free to attend and is not ticketed. Spaces will be given on a first-come first-served basis and there will be complimentary refreshments following the service.
