Denholm Good Logistics Limited Expands In Northern Ireland

Denholm Good Logistics Limited, an award-winning provider of end-to-end logistics and shipping services, is delighted to announce the acquisition of Quay Holdings Limited and its wholly owned subsidiary Quay Cargo Services Limited, a well-established shipping and transport company based in Belfast.

This strategic acquisition expands Denholm Good Logistics’ footprint in Northern Ireland while enhancing its range of services, which now include freight forwarding, short sea shipping, customs clearance, liner agency, European road freight, and airfreight.

With a history dating back to 1995, Quay Cargo Services has built a strong reputation for delivering transportation solutions to Northern Irish businesses operating in both export and import markets. As the appointed liner agent for Hapag-Lloyd in Northern Ireland, the company plays a key role in facilitating global trade.

This acquisition marks the coming together of two family-owned businesses with shared values, a customer-centric approach, and a strong culture of innovation. Quay Cargo Services’ highly skilled team, extensive industry knowledge, and broad service capabilities align perfectly with Denholm Good Logistics’ ambitious long-term strategy for growth.

Strategic Benefits and Future Collaboration

Customers, and employees, can expect business as usual, with the added benefit of the strength and enhanced service capabilities under the Denholm Group umbrella. Both companies will leverage their combined expertise to drive additional value for customers. The acquisition will contribute to the long-term success of both businesses.

Alan Platt, Divisional Managing Director of the Denholm Logistics Group said: “We are all delighted to welcome Quay Cargo Services into the Denholm family, bringing two great companies with exceptional people together. We have had a long-standing joint venture, known as Captain Container, with Quay Cargo Services which offers container handling and storage in the Port of Belfast. Having worked so closely with Gary and his team, it seemed logical that we collaborate more closely, and we are genuinely excited at the prospect of exploring how we can further grow our businesses in the future.”

Gary Stewart, Managing Director of Quay Cargo Services added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Quay Cargo Services to join forces with a like-minded family-owned business that shares our commitment to excellence and customer service. We are excited about the future and look forward to working together to continue delivering first-class logistics solutions.”

Integration and Continuity

Quay Cargo Services will maintain its brand identity and continue operating as a standalone entity. Customers and employees are assured that it will remain business as usual. The partnership will focus on growth, service enhancement, innovation and creating long-term career opportunities within the business.

A Stronger Future Together

This acquisition represents a significant step forward for both companies. By combining resources, expertise, and a shared commitment to excellence, Denholm Good Logistics and Quay Cargo Services are well-positioned to strengthen their presence in Northern Ireland and provide improved logistics solutions to customers worldwide.
